For Educators

Thank you, educators! We appreciate your support of literature and reading.

Below are opportunities just for you.

School Visits:

Each year we send authors to local high schools the day before the festival!* If you want us to consider your school for an author visit, read this informational sheet and then fill out this form.

*We only visit high schools since the books being presented skew older YA and may or may not have suitable content for children under 13.

Author/Educator Mixer:

Educators are invited to attend our second annual Educator & Author Mixer at the festival during the scheduled lunch time.

It is our mission to give students a chance to connect with books and authors, and you are the driving facilitator behind that mission.

Last year we held our first Educator & Author Mixer as a way to allow you and your colleagues to connect with local authors. Success in 2017 means we’re doing it again in 2018.

What is this exactly? From 12:30 – 1 PM we are inviting a panel of local authors and you, the educators, to mingle. Maybe you will find an author whose books you know your students will enjoy. Coordinate a school visit with them! Do you have a creative writing club or class? Ask for pointers.
